General Information:
English is becoming more and more important in everyday life.
It is the key to open the door to many careers and a new world where the English language is essential to communicate or work with.
Teachers need a way to assess their students .That is why Oxford Colleges International Examinations Syndicate offers a new range of examinations administered at the end of each school year to provide assessment :
For all ages
At all levels
In all four skills: Listening, speaking ,reading and writing.
The Syndicate, a division of Oxford Colleges International ( OCI ) is formed by a chain of prestigious language schools in London accredited by OCR, The Trinity College, NCVQ (approved centre), LCCI Examinations Board, RSA Examinations Board and OLF.
Our Exams:
The Oxford Colleges International Examinations are produced by experienced U.K. examiners, marked in the U.K .and designed for the Local System of Education.
A certificate of achievement is given to the successful candidates.
The levels of the various examinations correspond to the level of study during the academic year.
Exams Outlines:
The Exams consist of 5 parts, 4 sections for communicative skills (writing, speaking, listening and reading )and 1 that assesses language awareness (use of English).
There is a general uniformity of question types throughout the whole series of exams so that there will be a recognisable feel to the Oxford Colleges International Examinations. Questions at the more advanced levels will allow greater sophistication in possible responses, but as a general guide, question types will be chosen from the following list as appropriate:
- Multiple choice
- Matching tasks
- Cloze exercises
- True/False
- Sentence transformations
- Short answers
- Guided composition- Using information supplied
- Free composition- Maximum 20-25 words at lowest levels; 200-250 at higher levels.

PRE-INTERMEDIATE*At this level the student achieves the Oxford Colleges International Primary Certificate in English.
3 Higher levels
INTERMEDIATE
UPPER-INTERMEDIATE
ADVANCED**Successful candidates achieve the O.C.I. Higher certificate of Competence.
Finally, there is a last stage for the ones who would like to achieve full proficiency
O.C.I Proficiency in English.
OCI Proficiency is a valid evidence of English level to study at over 40 UK universities.
Teachers are free to choose any material they feel appropriate for each level. However, the local Representative will be able to help you on this matter.
